Christian Life Club (CLC)

CLC is held weekly on Wednesdays, 2:45 - 4:30 p.m. in the Memphis Free Methodist Church. We will kicked-off our year with a Christian Life Club Carnival on September 13 and weekly classes began on Wednesday, September 20.

What is the Christian Life Club?

The Christian Life Club, or CLC is a midweek program comparable to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. It is based on Luke 2:52 which states, "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men."

The mission statement of the Christian Life Club is to give children an opportunity to become disciples who walk as Jesus walked. They have the chance to:

  • Discover the joy of living for Jesus Christ
  • Show His love in their relationships with others
  • Experience wholesome spiritual, physical, mental, social and emotional growth

Each month the children will participate in chapel, class time, crafts, and recreation. The class times are designed to help the children reach the age-appropriate goals.

 What is the Weekly Schedule?

We will meet at the Memphis Free Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45 - 4:30 p.m. We will be responsible for picking the children up from school and making sure they arrive safely at the church located on Bordman Road. We will only take the children who have a note from the parents stating that they are allowed to join us. Once they arrive, the schedule is as follows :

  • 2:45 - 3:15 p.m. - Snack Time  /  Activity time
(Snacks will be provided by people of the church.)
  • 3:15 - 3:40 p.m. - Opening/Chapel
  • 3:40 - 4:30 p.m. - Discovery Time (class, craft, or recreation)
  • 4:30 p.m. - Parent Pickup Time

Parents will need to pick up their children at 4:30 p.m. In the event that a parent cannot do so, if the children are enrolled in the school's Day Care program, we will transfer your children to their care. We will also allow your children to leave with whomever you wish - provided a note is sent and identification of that person is verified.

What Else Should I Know About CLC?

Christian Life Club is a church-funded program. Money or offerings will not be taken at the weekly Wednesday meetings. Donations are always accepted and are tax deductable.

Christian Life Club does not meet when school is not in attendance. (If there is a snow day or vacation day on a Wednesday, there will not be CLC.)

The end result of the Christian Life Club program is to teach children to think in that popular phrase: "W.W.J.D - What Would Jesus Do?" Jesus showed love and compassion to friends and family. He knew His Father's will for His life, and that is what the Christian Life Club tries to teach the children of the community--to think as Jesus did and to grow in favor with God and men.
